Getting Here. (Downtown Waterfront District)

From Grand Central - take the Hudson Line/Croton-Harmon train to Yonkers Train Station. 33 minutes away. See MTA schedule here.

From Chelsea/West side highway - Take Route 9A to Exit 23B for US 9 N/New York 9A N/ Broadway. Right on Broadway, drive 2.2 miles. 

By Car- Enter the public parking garage addresses: 

45 Warburton Ave., Yonkers, NY, 10701; OR 8 Buena Vista Ave, Yonkers, NY 10701

1 Train/Bus - take the 1 Train to Van Cortlandt Park/242nd St. /Broadway, then take the 1 bus to Getty Square  

Parking/    Shuttle Service.

Shuttle service is FREE courtesy of the City of Yonkers! Hop on our fleet of white school buses and shuttle vans to one of the four CULTURAL HOTSPOTS:

Downtown/Main St. Galleries - pick up location in front of the Yonkers Train Station

Untermyer Gardens- pick up in front of Untermyer at 945 N Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701

YoHo Open Studios - pick up location at 578 Nepperhan Ave., the Nepperhan entrance to YoHo Studios

The Gist. 

DAY 1 (Saturday, May 6th)

Downtown -In the early afternoon check out the amazing galleries, pop-up venues, a live painting by Jamel Robinson in Getty Square and street artist paintings.  The pop-up galleries will line Main St. at the following addresses:

Untermyer Gardens - in the mid-afternoon take a tour by the Untermyer Conservancy or just enjoy the peacefulness of America's Best Forgotten Garden. Access to Untermyer is free. Tours by the Untermyer Conservancy on Saturday ($10).

YoHo Open Studios -All aboard the shuttle to the 14th annual YoHo Open Studio and enjoy the after party in 530 Nepperhan Ave., an amazing raw space in the the Carpet Mills Arts District. 

DAY 2 (Sunday, May 7th)

Hudson River Museum - Start your Sunday Funday at Yonkers biggest cultural institution, which is offering free admission this year all weekend offering family events.

Untermyer Gardens - Close out this amazing arts weekend with FASHION SHOW SUNDAY!!! This spectacular display of original designs will feature some of the hottest designers in the New York City area. The show will start at 2PM but you will want to get there early to find a nice spot in Samuel Untermeyer's walled Persian garden. 




YAW in Review

YAW 2014 - Mayor Spano, kicks off the Inaugural Yonkers Arts Weekend with 20,000 sq. ft. pop-up show by Urban Studio Unbound in the vacant waterfront building.

The keys to vacant Downtown spaces are turned over to local, and regional artists and art organizations. 

Yonkers hosts the City's first ever fashion show at Untermyer Gardens featuring the spectacular line by Dawn Notaro, Dawn of New York  



YAW 2015-Mayor Spano, the owners of the historic Alexander Smith Carpet Mills, and YoHo artists announce the proposed Carpet Mills Arts District. 

The Downtown Waterfront hosts pop-up galleries but welcomes world renown street artists Damien Mitchell, Fumero and Crash to leave their artistic mark on the City. 

Fashion show Sunday expands to include Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva, Hunagarian designer Adrienn Braun, and local designers.

This massive venue in the heart of the Downtown Waterfront District will feature over 33,000 sq. ft. of artwork by Urban Studio Unbound, YoHo Artists Forvll, Ruff Art Studios,Yonkers Peace Pottery and local Yonkers artists.
